Foot pain can affect your day-to-day life, especially if your job or other activities involve being on your feet for long periods of time.
At Your Podiatry, we offer a relaxing and welcoming approach. We’ll put you at ease while improving your foot health, ensuring your feet are healthy and happy.
We can treat foot pain relating to many issues, including:
corns and calluses
cracked heels
fungal infections
hard skin
thickened toenails
Corns and calluses
A callus is an area of thickened skin, usually light yellow in colour, that the body creates to protect itself in response to repetitive friction or pressure.
Calluses on your feet are often caused by badly-fitting footwear, or not wearing socks with your shoes. They can also be a result of biomechanical or anatomical changes or problems.
If you have a callus on your heel, it can lead to cracks (also known as heel fissures), which can be painful and may sometimes bleed.
A corn develops for the same reasons as a callus, but the skin build up is much more focused. A corn creates a small plug that extends deeper into the skin, and can be quite painful.
Corns and calluses often need professional removal. This usually offers immediate pain relief, and it’s something we can help with at Your Podiatry.
As part of your general podiatry appointment, we’ll offer guidance on general care, padding and footwear. We may even provide insoles for long-standing or very painful corns.
What not to do
Do not attempt to remove any corns yourself using anything sharp. This is particularly important if you suffer from diabetes or any immunosuppressive condition.
We also advise not to use corn plasters as they often contain an acid that can burn the surrounding healthy skin.
Managing thickened toenails
Thickened toenails (onychauxis) can be a difficult condition to manage with at-home remedies, and symptoms may become more severe if left untreated.
At Your Podiatry, we have the equipment and expertise to effectively treat and manage this common problem.
Improving dry, hard skin
Dry, hard skin on your feet is a common problem, but with a little bit of care you can ensure your feet are in tip top condition.
Our Prende warm wax treatment can be an effective, relaxing and soothing way to improve your skin’s hydration levels. It is perfect for managing problems such as dry, hard skin and heel fissures.

How to get started
Please note, you will need to have an initial podiatry assessment before booking a general podiatry treatment session.
Initial assessments are a 40-minute face-to-face consultation at our clinic in Surbiton.
This is a chance for our podiatrist to listen to what you need, diagnose your foot problem, create a treatment plan and – if appropriate – begin treatment.
Follow-up appointments for general podiatry treatments are 30-minute appointments.
